Created for the Changing Lanes project in central Auckland, these montages merge the artist’s own photographs with found images of Aotearoa landscapes, overlaid with XR sculptures — Luminary XR, Luminary II (Betelgeuse), and Morning Star. Inspired by handmade earth sculptures, planetary bodies Venus and Uranus, the giant star Betelgeuse, and chalcedony crystal forms of ancient Aotearoa, the celestial spheres appear suspended within the land. In blending the virtual, the found, and the personal, the works open a space where earth and cosmos meet, and the familiar becomes charged with wonder.
